One of the biggest and most exciting cities in Niederrhein...

...is without doubt Duisburg. History wise, culturally and geographically Duisburg also belongs to the Ruhrregion which makes the city even more interesting. Already since the middle ages the city, which by the way, comprises the biggest inner harbour of the world, has been an important trade center.

The resulting places and activities of industrial culture formed the city and are through e.g. the Landschaftspark Nord, the port district Ruhrort and the inner harbour important sights for Duisburg. Next to that, every year important events take place in Duisburg and many bars, restaurants and discotheques offer a great variety to the city.
